Cook'n For Kids CD

Rachel’s Upside Down Spaghetti Pie

This is the funniest kids dish yet! Not only did Rachel think this up in her own little head - she got Mom to conjure it up for her. Rachel's favorite two things to eat are Spaghetti and Eggs. Guess what - that is exactly what is in this interesting dish.

What you need to get started:

* 1 Adult to be your assistant

* 2 cups cooked spaghetti
* 4 Eggs
* 1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese
* 1/2 cup cooked Peas (optional)
* 2 Tblsp. Margarine

Ask your assistant to make 2 cups cooked Spaghetti. Once the spaghetti is made set aside.

Take 4 eggs, crack the shells on each egg and place the 4 eggs (without shells) in a bowl and stir. Stir until the yellows and the whites of the eggs make one color - yellowish/white. Make sure to put the shells in the garbage.

Then, the same bowl with the eggs, add 1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese. Mix this very well. You want to have all the cheese covered with eggs.

Next, in the same bowl with the eggs and cheese, add in the 2 cups cooked spaghetti and add 1/2 cup cooked peas. Mix again very well. You may substitute peas for corn. Ask the adult helping you what the word "substitute" means.

This next part you will need grown up to do:

Ask the grown helping you to heat up a large pan (that has a lid) and place the 2 Tblsp. of margarine in the pan. Make sure to always say "Please". When the pan is real hot ask your grown up helper to add the spaghetti, eggs and pea mixture into the hot pan. Cook this mixture over medium heat and make to cover the pan. Cook the mixture for about 10 minutes or until all liquids have dissolved. Don't forget to ask your helper what "dissolved" means.

Once the liquid has dissolved let the fun begin! Your adult helper needs to turn the whole thing over using a spatula. Like a pancake! Cook for about 5 more minutes until it is golden brown. The last and final step – say "Thank You helper" grab a dish and a fork and dig in!

These tools are high quality and very durable and most definitely not a play set; they are real cooking utensils for little hands.
